How these scores work
Free Score (0–100) follows a fixed rubric: cards up front, auto-billing, hard time cutoffs, withheld core features, and paying with your data or attention all deduct points. 90–100 truly free · 70–89 free forever · 45–69 squeezed · 15–44 trial mechanics · under 15 fake or gone. Value (0–10) is editorial: real-world worth of the free offering measured against its paid equivalent. Full rubric on the methodology page.

Yes — free static QR codes with logos, colors, and high-resolution download, no account, no expiry, no scan limits. The code is baked with your link and works as long as your link does.

What it’s worth

Dynamic-QR subscriptions run $5–15/month; for permanent links, this does the job at $0 forever.

What you get free

  • Unlimited static QR codes
  • Custom colors, logos, and design
  • High-resolution downloads (PNG, SVG, PDF, EPS)
  • No signup, no expiration, no scan limits

In practice: the safe default for anything printed — business cards, menus, signage — because nothing behind the code can ever be switched off.

Drawbacks

  • Static means uneditable — a typo'd link means a new code
  • No scan analytics on static codes
  • The site's ads and upsells sit around the free tool

Also paywalled

  • Dynamic (editable, trackable) codes — their separate paid product

The catch

The site earns from ads and an upsell to a paid dynamic-code product — clearly separated from the free tool. The static codes it makes are permanent by physics, not by promise: nothing to expire, no service to lapse.

The smart play

  • Triple-check the URL before generating — static codes can't be edited after
  • Download the SVG or EPS for print; PNG for screens
  • Test-scan the final printed proof, not just the file

Why static codes can't be taken from you
A static QR code encodes your URL directly in the pattern — no middleman server, no account, no subscription keeping it alive. Once printed, only two things can break it: physical damage or your own destination page going down. That immunity is the whole reason this listing exists next to the trap above it.
When you genuinely need dynamic
If the destination must change after printing, or you need scan counts, dynamic is the right tool — as a knowing paid purchase from a stable provider, never as a free-trial artifact on printed material.
