Yes — and its installer is one of the cleanest in Windows software.

Download7-zip.org. This matters here: lookalike domains and app-store clones are common, and the real project has no ads, no bundled offers, and no sponsor screens at any point. If your installer showed you one of those, you got it from the wrong place.

Why is there no catch?
7-Zip is the work of one developer, Igor Pavlov, released under an open license since 1999. There's no company to monetize you — which is why it has out-survived every nagware competitor.
On a Mac?
There's no official Mac version. Keka and The Unarchiver are the free equivalents Mac users reach for; the 7z format itself works everywhere.
